Minimally invasive surgery for advanced colorectal malignancies can prove challenging. Large and small bowel may be involved with contiguous structures. In these advanced malignancies an en-bloc resection is essential to a good outcome. As trends toward minimally invasive surgery increases, the application of robotic surgery will allow for these complex cases to be successfully accomplished with a minimally invasive approach. We demonstrate the en-bloc robotic resection of colon and bladder and the closure of the bladder defect. These complex cases which are often done open can be easily accomplished with the aid of a surgical robot.
