ROBOTIC EXCISION OF PRESACRAL MATURE CYSTIC TERATOMA IN A MALE: A VIDEO VIGNETTE
Jessica Chin*, Jared Emolo, Joaquin Estrada, Jan Kaminski
Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Chicago, IL

Mature cystic teratomas are benign neoplasms primarily causing symptoms related to mass effect. Representing ~20% of ovarian masses, they are rare in men. Though benign, treatment is surgery to confirm pathology. We present a 58 year old male who presented with increased bowel frequency found to have a large presacral cyst causing extrinsic compression on the rectum. He successfully underwent robotic cyst excision with alleviation of his gastrointestinal symptoms. Final pathology confirmed a mature cystic teratoma. This case highlights an uncommon diagnosis clinicians should be aware of, in order to provide patients with the appropriate counselling and treatment.
