BACKGROUND
We present the case of a patient with recurrent paraconduit hernia, who previously underwent robotic-assisted vascularized autologous posterior rectus sheath repair after esophagectomy for cancer.
METHODS
The rectus sheath is dissected, the intestine is retracted in the abdomen and the conduit is circularly mobilized. Hiatoplasty is performed with ethibond sutures. A mesh is placed and fixed with fibrin-glue.
RESULTS
There were no complications. No dysphagia or recurrences were registered at short-term follow-up.
CONCLUSION
In experienced hands, laparoscopic Re-Do hiatoplasty for paraconduit hernia is safe and feasible.
