LAPAROSCOPIC RESECTION OF LARGE DUODENAL POLYP

75 year male with C/o 3-4 episodes of black tarry stools and giddiness for 10 days.
History of CAD, Type-2 DM, Hypothyroidism
Evaluated outside and transfused with 2 units of blood for low Hb.
CT abdomen (plain) : intra-luminal poly-poidal lesion of size 4.5 x 3.5 cm in 1
st part of Duodenum.
Examination was unremarkable.
Rectal exam showed melena.
Upper GI Endoscopy showed a sessile polyp about 4 cms in size with a a wide stalk.
The patient was planned for a laparoscopic excision .
The procedure took 85 minutes . . Patient was allowed oral fluids on Ist Post operative day,semi solids on day 2 and was discharged on 4
th post operative day.
The biopsy was hyperplastic duodenal polyp.
