This video demonstrates a robotic liver resection of segments 7 and 8 in a 42-year-old male with a 3.5 cm metastatic tumor near the middle and right hepatic veins.
Parenchymal transection used monopolar cautery and cross-clamp techniques with bipolar Maryland forceps and synchro-seal. Intermittent Pringle maneuvers minimized bleeding.
The tumor was resected with negative margins. Traction sutures allowed circumferential access, and minimal bleeding occurred. Pathology confirmed metastatic adenocarcinoma with clear margins.
This case emphasizes mastering cross-clamp techniques and strategic vascular control for safe, effective robotic liver resections.
