ROBOTIC GASTRECTOMY AFTER RYGB

Gastric cancer after Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass for surgical treatment of obesity has presented an increase in incidence in the last decades. Around 77 % of cases are diagnosed in the excluded stomach , usually in advanced stages. We present a case of a 34 years-old female patient, who was diagnosed with gastric adenocarcinoma in the Gastric pouch in a routine endoscopy after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. The decision was made to perform Robotic Total Gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy, and reconstruction by Roux-en-Y Esophageal-jejunal anastomosis qith Da Vinci Xi The patient presented a good postoperative evolution, started clear liquid diet on post-operative day 2 and had early discharge home.
