Z POEM (PER ORAL ENDOSCOPIC MYOTOMY) FOR ZENKER'S DIVERTICULUM

Z-POEM is one of the applications of third space endoscopy dedicated for the treatment of Zenker's diverticulum (ZD). ZD is usually present in old & frail patient. It offers a less invasive procedure than surgery with better results than conventional endoscopic septotomy. In Z- POEM there is a complete exposure of the septum followed by complete septotomy and an extended myotomy within the esophageal muscles. Modifications of Z-POEM had were done to overcome its own limitations as redundant mucosal fold & huge ZD. In this presentation, we are presenting the evolution of Z-POEM successively for maximum optimization of the management.
