A NOVEL PLATFORM FOR SINGLE INCISION MINIMALLY INVASIVE COLECTOMY: SINGLE-PORT ROBOTIC LOW ANTERIOR RESECTION (SP RLAR)
John H. Marks*, Jane Yang, Elizabeth Spitz
Lankenau Medical Center, Wynnewood, PA

In this video, we demonstrate using a novel single port flexible robot to perform a SP rLAR.
The patient is a 50-year-old woman who presented with rectal bleeding and was diagnosed with a partially obstructing rectosigmoid cancer on colonoscopy, staged as T4bN2 on MRI. She received neoadjuvant chemoradiation. The SP robot with 3 instruments and assistant ports were all placed in a GelPOINT access platform through a right lower quadrant incision. We show splenic flexure mobilization, ligation of the IMA/IMV, TME, and end-to-end anastomosis. A diverting loop ileostomy was brought up through the single incision. Total operative time was 243 minutes with a single docking time of 2 minutes.
