Esophageal perforation secondary to food impaction is an extremely rare entity and is associated with high morbidity. Prompt surgical intervention is the most crucial prognostic element and usually requires open thoracic and/or laparotomy.

We report a case of 34-year-old man who was referred to our institution with esophageal perforation secondary to food impaction. He had a history of longstanding GERD and intermittent solid food dysphagia. He underwent laparoscopic primary closure of transmural esophageal perforation. We highlight the surgical technique in this video.
