Anatomical resection is recommended for HCC.The conventional procedure (dye injection) is difficult to reproduce. The tumor-feeding portal pedicle compression technique has been proposed as an easy and repeatable procedure. Its only drawbacks is, sometimes, the faint discoloration of the compressed area: for enhancing its visibility the ICG has been introduced.A 66-yr man was admitted for a HCC in S8d, Child A.The pedicle to S8d was identified by IOUS and compressed transparenchymally.Once IOUS-guided vessel compression had begun, ICG was administered intravenously creating a non-stained area. A S8d subsegmentectomy using the ICG-compression technique was performed. There was no morbidity.
