Laparoscopic liver surgery (MILS) for colo-rectal liver metastases (CRLM) demonstrated good results, MILS for complex parechymal sparing resections (PS) are still limited and matter of debate.
This video shows a MILS of a 4 cm single CRLM in a 66 years old male patient located at segment 5-8, laparoscopic right anterior sectionectomy (S5-8) was planned.
After accurate intraoperative ultrasonography staging and surgical planning, extraglissonian approach to right anterior glissonian pedicle was perfomed in order to identify the anatomic landmarks and reduce blood losses.
Complex PS can be safely performed with MILS with the same oncological principles of open surgery.
