LAPAROSCOPIC HELLER MYOTOMY AFTER GASTRIC BYPASS
Alexandra Argiroff*, Ana T. Garcia, Diego R. Camacho
Surgery, Montefiore Medical Center, New York, NY

Achalsia is a rare disease, and has been found even more rarely in the bariatric population. There are only a few singular case reports and one small case series in the literature. It's diagnosis and management present challenges in this group of patients. We present the case of a laparoscopic Heller myotomy performed in a patient who was diagnosed with achalasia after she had a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. It proved to be a safe and effective way to manage this patient's disease.
