ROBOTIC FISTULECTOMY WITH COLOTOMY AND OMENTAL FLAP FOR CHRONIC RECURRENT COLOCUTANEOUS FISTULA
Steven Tsoraides*, Neha Jain Department of Surgery, University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria, IL
In this submission, we follow a robotic repair of a recurrent colocutaneous fistula, due to a persistent fistula tract following prior sigmoid colectomy and colocutaneous fistula repair for diverticulitis. By the conclusion of this procedure, the entire fistula tract was excised along with the communication of the colon, the colonic defect was closed, and a flap of omentum was interposed between the two structures. This procedure was done with the hope that this extensive solution would protect from recurrence of such fistulas.
