Anterior Hepatic Parenchymal Transection for Isolated Caudate Lobectomy
Xiangcheng Li* Liver Transplantation Center, The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing, China
This video show isolated caudate lobe resections using anterior hepatic parenchymal transection. In the operation, Anterior parenchymal transection was done along left side of the middle hepatic vein. After exposure of the left and middle hepatic veins and the hilar plate, the caudate lobe and the tumor were resected en bloc. There was no mortality in the post-operative period. No recurrence was noted in the follow-up period after operation 6 months. Isolated caudate lobectomy using the anterior hepatic parenchymal transection approach was technically feasible and safe for patients with tumors located the caudate lobe. Surgical resection offers potential cure in isolated caudate lobe tumors.
