Robotic Transanal Repair of Rectovaginal Fistula
Melinda E. Stack*, Konstantin Umanskiy
Surgery, University of Chicago, Chicago, IL

We present an innovative approach of repairing a high rectovaginal fistula transanally with robotic assistance.
Transanal access was obtained using GelPoint Path TAMIS platform, with two robotic cannulas, a camera port and an assistant port.
The video demonstrates these key steps:
1. Fistula tract debridement
2. Mobilization of rectal advancement flap
3. Closure of fistula tract
4. Mucosal flap closure
5. Flexible sigmoidoscopy to confirm repair and lumen patency
We demonstrate an innovative technique of a transanal approach to repair a high rectovaginal fistula using a robotic platform, providing superb dexterity and precision for dissection, suturing and knot tying in the confines of the rectum.
