Surgery, University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA

We present a representative case from our initial experience with robotic single incision colectomy. This ileocolic resection was performed in a 20 year old female with medically refractory fibrostenotic Crohn's disease. The perceived advantages of robotic single incision surgery over laparoscopic single incision surgery are: improved visualization, a surgeon-controlled camera platform, and wristed instrumentation.
