Newer operations in patients with chronic pancreatitis are organ sparing procedures that are equally effective alternatives to pancreaticoduodenectomy in terms of pain relief, quality of life, and control of organ complications. The aim of this video is to familiarize surgeons with the relevant technical aspects of organ-sparing procedures using a side-to-side comparison of these two operations.
