Human NOTES Hybrid Transgastric Cholecystectomy

Natural Orifice Translumenal Endoscopic Surgery (NOTES) is a rapidly developing area of minimally invasive surgery that has the potential to improve post-operative outcomes by eliminating abdominal incisions. Hybrid techniques using mostly endoscopic and minimal laparoscopic instruments are being performed in human patients. At Northwestern, we have successfully performed two human NOTES hybrid transgastric cholecystectomies and this video demonstrates the technique we have used to perform this procedure.
